MADE IN AUSTRALIA

The label was founded on a love of fashion & a hatred of overconsumption. After spending 9 years establishing the brand through her bricks & mortar stores in Melbourne’s North, South & East, Keegan now works from her Gippsland (Gunaikurnai) based studio to produce durable garments with longevity in mind - from their timeless cut & aesthetic, to the way each piece is constructed. Each year a trans-seasonal collection is released, designed for layering & year-round wear.

Keegan is accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia & receives annual audits, to ensure ethical standards are met within the business's manufacturing supply chains.

A small range of jewellery compliments the keegan range & is assembled in-house, using both locally sourced & imported materials.

We operate on land that was forcibly taken from Indigenous Australians, to whom reparations have never been paid, therefore, from November 2020 1% of all keeganthelabel.com.au sales will be donated annually to an initiative called 'Pay The Rent'.

SUSTAINABILITY

Waste reduction is important to the label, therefore predominantly bio-degradable materials are used during cutting & all suitably sized off-cuts are collected & stored for future projects. All other fabric scraps are sent to a Melbourne textile recycling plant, where they are broken down and made into new (fully recyclable) materials. Any pattern-making paper offcuts are collected then composted. Recyclable boxes, compostable mailing satchels & tape are used for packing clothing orders. The studio is currently powered by Diamond Energy, rated 10/10 in Greenpeace's Green Electricity Guide. Keegan Circular, a carefully curated range of pre-loved & up-cycled clothing compliments the ready to wear range & provides customers with more sustainable shopping options.
